Cubenen Gardens

Between late 2016 and early 2018 I wrote this story about Seaglass, a young skunk boy who finds himself in a city inhabited by animals, and anthropomorphic cube people.  And he teams up with three other individuals to go on a journey across the city's many districts.  The city has this challenge where if you can defeat each of the city's seven district leaders in some kind of duel, you can challenge the ruler of the entire city, and become the city's new king.

All of these books were originally put up on Lulu for $1.99 each.  And every book is between 60 and 112 pages each.  656 pages total.  But after a while I figured maybe I could put these up on itch.io as well since my audience is more likely to be on here.

This was a very personal project for me.  It was my first times ever telling a story to this length before with complete freedom, and I met a lot of nice people along the way.  Particularly Ron Raccoon, who I commissioned to create the eight book covers, and who is still a good friend today.

This series is a little rough around the edges though.  There are a lot of typos from what I remember, there are several instances of characters or scenes I would write very differently if I were to do them today.  But I hope you still enjoy this little series that took up a good chunk of my life and at the end of the day, I'm still pretty proud of.
